Mattia G Bergomi

About me

I was born in 1986 and I discovered to be fond of music when I was 5 years old. I got my graduation in mathematics in 2011. On one hand I am interested in harmony, melody in songwriting, ear training and I work as composer, arranger and performer as a guitar player. On the other hand I am interested in topology and algebra. This is why I am trying, while working as musician and mathematician, to develop a tool to analyze music with geometrical and dynamical techniques.

Music: Lessons and Books

I teach modern and jazz guitar since 2006. I give lessons of harmony, melody in songwriting, ear training and arrangement. (english)

here a useful link where you can find a lot of music lessons about theory, improvisation, harmony written by myself, Simone Geravini, Enrico Porazzi, Simone Rozza and Simone Terruzzi. You can also comment an article and receive answers from the author, or ask me here on the site using the section Contact.

I Modi delle Scale

The link you see above is where you can buy a book that I wrote with Simone Geravini. At the moment it is only avalaible in italian version. It is about the whole modal scale system deduced from the three main classical tonal scales with examples and exercizes. If you want to know something more about these features or you have some questions I will be glad to answer you!

References about music and mathematics Slides Current projects

My master thesis in mathematics is about a dynamical model for musical spaces, I discovered that collecting a bibliography to write about math and music is not easy at all this is why I link here my bibliography.

Here you can find the slides I used in a speech titled Dynamical models for musical spaces at the University of Salento

Using some results from my thesis and some new tools I am working on the database of this new interesting music marketplace: Moosity.

Arrangements & Production

Perfect Music

By definition to arrange is "the art of preparing and adapting an already written composition for presentation in other than its original form. An arrangement may include reharmonization, paraphrasing, and/or development of a composition, so that it fully represents the melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic structure" (Corozine 2002, p. 3).

If you are a songwriter it is important to be a good arranger of your own song, or to have a person which can do it for you. The aim of is exactly to give you a professional team of arrangers --- I am one of them --- that can help you with your works! Here follows an example of a song in his original form:
